KNIFE GATE VALVE

Knife gate valve
The knife gate valve is an on/off shut-off valve with a blade gate that travels perpendicular to the flow, capable of cutting fluids loaded with suspended solids.
The bonnetless construction makes it extremely compact, lightweight and economical, while keeping reliable shut-off and an effective shearing action.
Where are knife gate valves used?
- Paper and pulp: stock, liquors and abrasive slurries
- Food: viscous fluids and products with particles
- Water: treatment, discharge and sludge
- Oil & Gas and pharmaceutical: shut-off on difficult fluids

How does a knife gate valve work?
The thin disc blade drops between the seats and shears the flow even in the presence of solids, wiping the sealing surface clean as it travels.
The linear movement with manual, pneumatic or electric actuation ensures fast opening and closing with minimal pressure drop when the valve is open.
The wafer and lug versions install between flanges, reducing footprint and weight on the plant.
